Gary Fish to retire as FishNet Security CEO; Rich Fennessy selected to lead the rapidly growing solutions company

Company founder, Gary Fish, will transition to chairman of the board as the company continues to accelerate growth.

Overland Park, Kans. | FishNet Security, North America’s largest information security solutions provider, announced today that the search to replace retiring company founder and CEO, Gary Fish, has concluded with the selection of Rich Fennessy as the company’s new chief executive officer. Mr. Fennessy brings 26 years of international technology business experience to FishNet Security, including successful tenures with IBM, eInstruction and Insight Enterprises, a Fortune 500 Global IT Solutions Company. Mr. Fish will continue contributing to the company’s strategic direction and vision as chairman of the company’s board of directors.

Rich Fennessy is a successful Fortune 500 CEO with extensive international management experience.  Most recently Mr. Fennessy was the president and CEO of eInstruction Corporation, an established, private equity-owned technology company operating in 80 countries. From 2004-2009, Mr. Fennessy was president and CEO of Insight Enterprises, Inc., a Fortune 500 global information technology solutions company with 5,500 employees and operations in 22 countries. Prior to joining Insight, Mr. Fennessy enjoyed a 17-year career with IBM where he held multiple senior-level executive positions both domestically and internationally, including General Manager of, IBM’s worldwide web and telephony business, a $12B business operating in 83 countries.

In addition to strong year-over-year organic growth, the company just recently announced the acquisition of TorreyPoint, a full-service provider of strategic network engineering solutions to more than 400 customers.

Other strategic developments include a dramatic expansion of the company’s managed security services and the opening of the company’s second security operations center in Atlanta, Ga. These offerings provide network and device monitoring and intrusion response services to large enterprise customers and represent the company’s fastest growing business segment.
