Battery Firmware Hacking
Who/Topic: Dr. Charlie Miller, Accuvant LABS principal research consultant, will explore the security implications of embedded controllers in laptop batteries. He will demonstrate how smart battery systems work, and show a vulnerability that enables configuration changes as well as firmware changes on the chip responsible for charging the battery.

Owning Your Phone at Every Layer – A Mobile Security Panel
Who/Topic: Dr. Charlie Miller will join a panel of researchers in discussing which mobile attack model is the most dangerous to an enterprise, which carries the most risk, when the monetization of mobile attacks will really occur, and what organizations can do to save themselves.
When: Thursday, Aug. 4 from 1:45 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
