Accuvant and FishNet Security Name Veena Bricker as First Chief Human Resources Officer

Denver and Overland Park, Kans. – June 18, 2015 – Accuvant and FishNet Security, which recently joined together to create the nation’s premier cyber security solutions provider, today announced the appointment of Veena Bricker as the company’s first-ever chief human resources officer (CHRO). In this newly created role, Bricker is responsible for the company’s human capital strategy, including all aspects of leadership development and talent management. She also will play a critical role in shaping the culture of the new, combined company as it moves through its next phase of growth.

Bricker brings more than 20 years of human resources, talent management, training and employee communications experience working for public and private organizations of varying sizes. She reports directly to chief executive officer Dan Burns.

“Our employees are our most valuable asset. The creation of the chief human resources officer role is critical to ensuring that human resources remain a cornerstone of our vision and strategic goals,” said Burns. “In order to become the world’s most advanced, most comprehensive and most trusted partner for cyber security solutions, we need to further increase our focus on attracting, inspiring and developing the world’s best and brightest professionals. Veena’s background and skills are ideally suited for the role, and I’m thrilled to have her on board.”

Bricker has significant M&A experience, leading organizations and their people through successful integration and cultural transformations. Previously, she served as senior vice president of CoreSite, a Denver-based data center solutions provider, where she was responsible for all human resources efforts, helping the company double in size in three years.  Bricker also held a variety of human resources leadership roles at Avaya, a next-generation business collaboration and communications solutions company. While at Avaya, she helped the company successfully manage its acquisition of Nortel Enterprises and oversaw the selection and onboarding of more than 6,000 employees in 40 countries. Bricker has held HR positions of increasing responsibility at McData Corporation, Quest Cybersolutions, Storagetek, US West, Whirlpool Corporation and Baxter Healthcare.

“This is a really exciting time to join the organization with the amazing group of employees already on board, the growth the company has already experienced, and the sheer size of the cyber security market,” said Bricker. “I’m looking forward to leading the effort to build a world-class culture, one where people are passionate about wanting to work here today and also want to stay to develop their careers for the future.”

Bricker earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in human resources from Cornell. She also graduated from the Advanced Human Resources Executive program at the University of Michigan.
